BT reckons they'll reconnect me soon after as will my ISP but I shall have no access to the Tour for that time and there's no satellite or digital so I won't see the rest on TV anyway I shall just go back to the old fashioned, buying the paper and reading the ride report the next day.

Poor dog is looking a bit confused. Don't even have time to walk him this morning and calm his nerves. Around me is a trail of shredded paper and bags. When I finally move his crate and cushion, I'm sure he'll bolt, stick and knotted hanky heading into the distance.

I am not going to move for at least 10 years now. I've done it three times in the last three years and it doesn't get any easier the more you do it. I seem to have to more bags full of bits with no home this time, so I'm actually getting worse at it.

Last time I moved, I took some unwanted stuff to Oxfam, and there was a chap and an old lady behind the counter. The chap said "oh, where's all this from?" so I said "You accumulate a fair bit of junk after 4 years in one house" and the old lady said "you want to try being me - 28 years in my house!" I commiserated, and she winked and said "still, it won't be me has to sort it out..."
