Apple can do the remote deletion with your tunes/apps.
Google can do it with your android apps.
Amazon can do it with your books.

Its all in the small print somewhere (and Apple really seem to like small print). Google / Apple say its protection if malicious code gets to your device.

I'm thinking about asking for one for Christmas. I can't be bothered to research all of that Kindle vs. other eReader stuff though, so if anyone has had to decide recently and would like to tell me which is best, please feel free.
