No, but Ted Turner got his hands on it back in the 1980s

Edit: swapped for the makes-you-smile charleston scene
Edit2: just to be clear: the scene is good, the colorization is an abomination.

There are three things that will put me off a film:

1. Remake
2. Nicholas Cage
3. Jim Carey

.. the only thing worse is any film that uses "re-imagined" in the puff

Coming soon to a cinema near you: the Final, I say Final Remake of It's A Wonderful Life" starring Jim Carey supported by Nicholas Cage. The whole Christmas experience re-imagined as you'll never believe!

So I thought: Jim Carrey would play George, and of course Nick Cage would be Clarence.

The I thought, Nick Cage as an angel - that's a weird.

And then I remembered the English language version of Wings of Desire. Bugger, I had forgot that appalling thing was even made.

Edit: Called City of Angels. Goddamn it! bad, bad.

  1. I keep saying I hate remakes but there have been some good one (The Fly from 1986 springs to mind).
  2. I quite like Nicolas Cage. I find him entertaining.
  3. Jim Carey is actual a very good actor (caveat: see 2 above) when he's do drama or playing it straight.
