I once ran over a cat on my bike. It darted out from under a car, I tried to avoid it but failed spectacularly as I seem to recall riding straight over the middle of its spine with both wheels. I turned to see if it was alright but it jumped up and darted off.
It is the season for squirrel so I understand. St John restaurant in London has it on its menu regularly at this time of year. It apparently tastes like wild rabbit. This year, they're served either deep-fried or gently braised with dried porcini, shallots and bacon.
Is it lunchtime yet?

I'm assuming it is....
.. but I think I'll settle for my double decker, bacon, tomato and salad sarny with kettle crisps
....and 2 mini flake bars ....oh and some fruit. (I like to think that when I cycle I can eat whatever I like without worrying - this probably isn't the case
)
