As an aside, I think the word 'controversial' is so often misused (imho of course

) that I think it has actually taken on a different meaning.
You'll hear TV commentators say it about a refs decision, but I don't reckon anything is controversial at the moment it happens, it only becomes so
after it has happened and becomes the subject of debate/controversy. So whilst the TV commentators' comments might start the process of something becoming controversial, that something is neither controversial at the moment it happens nor when the first comment is made. Capiche?
