You wouldn't be far wrong. Speedplays are pricey!

Arsen - thanks for the info. I would only be using these for racing so shouldn't be having to walk around too much. Unless my usual bad luck strikes and my bike betrays me.

Should be fine for that. Just make sure they are clean before you get to the start line. I did a few tt's and a tri in them. The amount of float took a little bit getting used I kept thinking my foot had come out, but I had no problem with that.

Yeah I've read that there's a lot of float, but thought that it was adjustable down to 0°: Am I mistaken?
 
You can tinker with the float quite a bit. I used them for a couple of months and swapped back to Look's for the racing season, so I am no expert in the adjustment.
If I'd still had them you could have tried them since I pass through Wallsend twice a day from/to the tunnel.

Recently changed from Look Keo Max 2 Carbons to Speedplay Zeros.

No regrets, but how long before they 'wear in'? Cleats seem tight to click in at the moment.
