Keeping a promise - FAO Apollonius

The other side of the river, I know, but you have just reminded me of one of my most joyous rides ever. it was high summer and on that road that runs high above the river through Levington. Yellowhammers were everywhere, leaping out of the hedges in front of me and the views of the Orwell across to Pin Mill were delightful.
Just realised that was nearly 50 years ago. Shows how memorable it was!

50 years ago? Sweet! I often go on that Levington route - I'll film it soon so you can see the road again :-)

So a few months back I said I'd film this route for Apollonius. It's now up here on the videos page on my blog. I hope it brings back some memories!

The best route into Ipswich from Trimley and Felixstowe if you have the time. It really needs a higher mounted cam pointing to the left to show the views over the bushes down to the river - especially on sunny days. Coming back the other way you get to see the container ships at the far end of Trinity terminal.

Thank you for that. Most interesting and enjoyable, though you will not be surprised that after 48 years (pretty sure it was 1966 - definitely a Tuesday!) it all looks different.

I drove the Stowmarket to Yoxford road last week. That looks quite pleasant too, though there was some traffic. I still have family in Suffolk.
