Anyone from CC?

Group of roadies climbing out of Keswick heading towards Thirlmere, looked fairly hard going up a 14% climb in cold very wet conditions.

I was still slightly jealous, no bikes with me over the weekend

Did manage some nice walks, and had a great stay in the Ambleside Salutation Hotel

Bit of a climb that. Not that I've ever actually done it (IIRC).

Has the flood damage been sorted in Keswick yet?

I saw the Milk Race in whatever incarnation it was then fly up that hill* and have ridden it much slower a few times but not recently.

* we spent most of the time watching Jimmy Savilles helicopter and the race went past very quickly indeed.

There were a couple of road closures, and some work going on down the bottom of Main St (no sure if its flood related). It was a grey day to start with, but the whole place seemed a little subdued.

In general alot of the roads were in a very bad state. The road passed Ullswater was particularly bad, would not have liked to have riden it on my road bike.
