Geese where did that week go !?!
Had great time the weather didn't want to play ball but hey we were in the lake district..
Decided to go the opposite way round than originally planned for my Kirkstone Pass adventure..
Started from Troutbeck down the A66 to Keswick followed the Tour of Britain route through Keswick not as many crowds cheering me on though

Took the route round Thilmere as suggested by
@theloafer met what looked like a club ride coming the opposite way all said hello or waved a hand

Dropped back onto the A591 and onto Ambleside where a picked up "The Struggle" so so aptly named and I did struggle

only stopped once but getting going again was really hard, that made me more determined not to stop again until I reached the Kirkstone Inn.
Took a well deserved breather on the way down into Patterdale seemed to be constantly on the brakes almost daring myself to go for it but never being on the road before was unsure of what was coming up round the next bend or how steep the bend was

Started to feel pleased with myself as I rode alongside Ullswater, little did I know what little surprise was in store...
Turned left onto the A5091 sign posted Troutbeck. It just kept going up and up Park Brow, Means Brow and Mell fell. My legs were done my heart was nearly forcing its way out of my chest, I kept saying to myself that it would level off after the next bend, sometimes it did, then round the next bend I'd be out of the saddle and climbing again..
Finally reached the summit and what a wonderful sight befell my eyes the caravan site and it was all down hill

Arrived back at the caravan to be greeted with" you've been a while the dogs have been waiting to go for a walk"

..
Had a cuppa and reflected on the ride and had a inner glow..
We did take the dogs for a walk but not as far as they would have liked
