My wife's kickstand mount has just sheared in half underneath the bolt on her Trek fx7.2. It also has the mount for her mudguards. Now, having a look at it I know I could have a top plate to put her stand back on, but is this something that could be covered by Trek's lifetime frame guarantee? Ok, it's not technically a structural part of the frame but I would not expect it to shear like it has.

Just take it back to the shop where you bought it; they will have a few unwanted kickstands lying around that they'll give you.

Trek would NOT give a life time guarantee on a kickstand dream on! Life time guarantee likely only applies to the frame and if so, it is a life time of the frame not you the owner. They could also say that failure of the kickstand is down to user mis-use although the LBS will likely, depending on when you bought the bike, just replace or repair it FoC. Also you posted this in the wrong forum. Doh!

@Chris Norton I assume you mean the welded on bracket under the frame - quite often called "bridges". My wife has similar on her Pinnacle which you can attach a kick stand.
If that's snapped off from the welds, then it is a frame issue !

I got big shoulders fossy. LOL. Did look around for a more suitable forum but general discussion seemed to fit. Welcome love to be enlighten me though.

It is indeed the welded on bridge rather than a kickstand. And just to add a bit of colour to the answer, Cranky, if you think anyone is stupid enough to ask about a lifetime frame guarantee for a kickstand I'd suggest you reread the post and then come back to me cos I'm damn sure I just asked about the kickstand mount and not the kickstand itself.
