I know I shouldn't, but I did laugh. Possibly wouldn't have found it as funny if I was being soaked :headshake:. I think it was the commentary...better that the usual chav swearing and mouthing off.

Have seen lots of school kids trying to get cars to soak them by standing by massive puddles and signalling to drivers

It did look a bit setup... really, would you stand at the bus-stop seeing such a puddle? IMO, only if you had either a distinct lack of braincells, or wanted to get soaked.

I've often waited behind a bus stop due to puddles, other passengers have been waiting by the road and then they move back hurridly when a car goes past and sprays them. Maybe they're just not as paranoid as me.

I'm not excusing the actions of the bloke as to deliberately do this is a vindictive and childish act and deserves punishing for it, but I think that the LA should also share some of the responsibility for not clearing the drain knowing it blocks regularly, and is adjacent to the bus stop. The puddle extends half way across the road.
This bloke (like the rest of the locals) obviously knew that the puddle was there as he talked about it all the way down the hill, and TBH the kids waiting at the stop probably get soaked every day by a passing car, bus, lorry etc to a lesser or greater degree.

Looked like a 30mph zone, too, he looked to be going well over that and could have easily lost control in the puddle.

Although I am considerably younger, I echo your comments, Rich! ;)

I don't condone it, i.e. wouldn't think to pull the stunt myself but the kids were obviously asking for it, goading drivers to do it.

Yeah, I can imagine how I'd laugh if my kids came home soaked and the driver said they were asking for it. They're KIDS!!!! they do stupid things, adults are meant to take this into consideration when making a decision.

As for 'goading', is there a list of stupid things people will find irresistable when goaded?

Nearly every joke has a "victim". There's not many jokes which can't cause harm to someone.

Strange to see people on a cycling forum seeing the funny side of pedestrians getting soaked on purpose. Yet we're all up in arms if a driver throws an empty mcdonald's cup at a cyclist.
