I agree. I admit I did laugh, it was pretty funny, but a selfish and horrible thing to do. The kids could've spent a long time soaked through on a cold day. Then, when they get home their parents would have wet and dirty clothes to deal with. I'm glad the guy is getting done for it, quite right.

Oh get off from your high horse Mr Pigsie.

I'm sure your parents and mine had wet and dirty clothes to deal with anyway, without a Hotpoint.

It's not the water that is dangerous, it is a car speeding close to the curb, in the wet, with people stood in close proximity - even if they are annoying school kids!

How can you tell how close it was? How can you tell it was speeding?

Out of interest.

I know how hard my wife works to keep our kids looking clean and smart. I somehow doubt she'd laugh about them coming home with their full uniforms soaked in muddy water.

Let's be honest, some of the little scroats deserve it, but, apart from the fact it is dangerous, you could be causing some innocent kid and their family a lot of work and hassle. Not to mention the health risk of having a kid soaked on a cold day. If the kids choose to stand next to puddles to get soaked deliberately then fair enough, but not when they're just trying to catch a bus.

Well no, neither did my old dear - but she treated it the same as when I decided it was clever to jump into a canal, got into a hockey match and lost 2 teeth, had someone put chewing gum on a seat on the bus.

Me too, not funny. It would have been much funnier if he'd aqua planed past and wiped the car out

Oh come on Cracks. Would you really have found that funny?

I don't find the initial vid funny but it's something I've been through and seen. It's not enough to want the car and its occupants wiped out.

One time we were up in the lakes on a very rainy bank holiday weekend. A bunch of kids were standing by a big puddle in their colourful macs and wellies waving at the motorists to drive by and splash them. So we did! They jumped around and waved after us, and it was really funny.

It's not clear from the vid whether the kids were hoping the driver would get them or not...overall its funny...I just hope the kids found it funny too.

No I never meant come to harm, trashed a couple of wheels on the car maybe.

I like watching slapstick on films but real life jokes at others expense I've never found generally funny. The only exception is when it's done to people you know will take it well and get you back i.e friends not strangers

It is an offence to splash pedestrians - might seem funny, but get caught.......

TBH see the splashing go on loads in Mcr after it's rained - mainly buses actually, and no, most folk are stupid enough to wait next to a big puddle, or not dash past when walking.

From the initial start of the clip the car is about 270 metres from the kids. It gets to splash them in 15 seconds. Travelling at 30mph (this is a 30 limit, look at the street lighting and also http://www.radardetectors.co.uk/camera_locations_devon_and_cornwall.htm) it would have been there in about 20 seconds. I would estimate the speed to average 38mph for the clip.

Exactly Comedy; they are moving and fast at that. They could have NOT just splashed them BUT taken them out literally, would everyone be laughing then ?
