Do it in T gauge. I dare you. It'll make for a brilliantly small layout

Maybe once they've brought out the single bogie short loco in that scale. Somehow, I think an HST isn't going to work at an industrial shunter.

I am NOT trying to make microscopic Kelloggs roundels.

That would be 0.556mm diameter. That's bigger then half a millimeter. I do have a microscope here somewhere...

Anyway Kitchen cabinets.
I'd still prefer the idea, mooted earlier, of just replacing the cabinet doors with a plain light coloured door. Measure the hinge positions, centre to centre, and then compare with the ones you look at. If the measurement is the same then the door should fit the same screw holes. Do check the height and width of the door too.
New handles or knobs also make a big difference to the look and feel of the space.

Don't forget, you can also change/paint the kick space panels if they are also dark wood finish.

DIY is Satan's work. Avoid it at all costs and ye shall (probably) be saved. If it looks kind of OK, leave it.

I hade tiles on the kitchen floor, I did find them to cold and outdated, took them up and replaced them with laminate flooring.

Another vote for just buying new doors, there are discount places that sell off discontinued lines from the big retailers, hunt around and you can get some real bargains.

In our last kitchen we updated the mustard yellow/brown doors by using the melamine paint. colours are limited but that was OK with us. It worked well because I prefer to use plenty of layers rather than paint thickly... it was certainly cheaper than replacing all of the doors and the extra left over paint was used to paint some plain wood ikea draws in the same colour which made things match really well. It is a touch smellier than normal paint. We also replaced the kitchen work surfaces including putting totally new work surfaces in places that had not previously had them - it was not difficult, but I did need my OH for lifting. patience is key.

OO probably. NT's worked out a basic plan, which is based on elements of Trafford Park, without being a direct copy. The Kelloggs factory will feature, but there will be a fictitious scrapyard too. We spotted a lot of little details today that can be included.

We reckon we'll make a good team - NT is very good on the tech side and design, and I'm looking forward to doing the scenery and props....

One task will be to knock up a dozen or so of these:

at about 4mm across....

Have you thought about having them chemical-etched?

Presumably colour selection wont be a problem as I just want to paint them cream?

Anyhoo. Got my spare room come office project to deal with first!
