Well, my little Martha had a batch of kittens last night, which we were expecting. They're all very healthy, with a variation of black and white colourings. Pics will follow as soon as Martha lets me pick them up.

I had kittens when I took on the ice in Billericay this February - and it was that cold I wish I had got furballs.;)

Congratulations Sam! Cat chew later...

We have got one up for grabs I think, PM me if you'd like to talk further. We've sold one to our neighbour already, and we're keeping one. So there's one spare.

Here's a little story for you: about 8 years ago I was driving rather fast one evening over the A56 to Rising Bridge when I spotted something small and black on the white lines between the two southbound carriageways. As I passed it I realised it was a tiny kitten. I hit the brakes, screeched to a stop by the road, dashed back 100 yards and managed to snatch the kitten out of the road before any more cars came. It can't have been more than a few days old and it had a bleeding nose. It was opposite a farm track so I reckoned it had climbed onto the underneath of a vehicle and fallen off in the road. It scratched me and bit me then fell asleep on my lap, obviously exhausted. I drove up to the farm (by the quarry on the top of the hill) and there was nobody in so I drove to another nearby farm where the farmer's wife said she would look after it. I wish I'd kept it now; it would have made a lovely present for my baby son.

Now we have an RSPCA cat; we think she got lost when she climbed into somebody's car as like all cats she loves getting into a warm car and having a kip.

I don't dip into here as often as I used to, but Mr shifty and I have been discussing options on a kitten recently. Bonnington has been getting mopey since her grandmother/friend from next door died in the winter (my other cat died in 2005), and I think she'd like someone to mug. If Rigid Raider can't take one, let me know, and I'll mention it to Mr shifty. It's only a quick run up the A56 to Colne.

So, the kittens are going well, we think that they're all boys at this point, they certainly all look the same downstairs, so to speak. We've decided to call them Vincent, Maurice and Gabriel. Only problem is, it appears that they have fleas. I've sprayed Martha, which is ok (the hormonal ones are meant to be a bit dodgy when the cat is nursing), but can't do much with the kittens at this point as the meds are worse for the kitten than the fleas. If anyone knows how to get fleas off of a kitten, then any advice would be excellent. At the moment, I'm just combing them, and picking the fleas off when I see them.
It also looks like Maurice's eyes are nearly open, which I know to be very early, but not abnormal.

Anyway, apart from the fleas they're happy and healthy, are suckling fine and gaining weight.

To the two people who were interested in my kittens - they are now just about ready to go, are all checked and healthy, and if you still want one then PM me.
