Aaah. I once saw a film in which a litter of kittens about three weeks old were all rolling around on the floor in fluffy, playful kitten mood when all of a sudden, a bunch of Nazi Stormtroopers burst into the room and stomped on them all. It was very sad.

I'm afraid Mrs RR vetoed the idea and she would be even more against kittens with fleas!

As a teenager I once sprayed our family cat with insecticide and regretted it because the poor cat fell over on its side and lay foaming at the mouth and convulsing for 10 minutes before recovering and looking a bit groggy. I thought I'd killed her.

Flea control has moved on a bit, RR... Frontline, Advantage... there really is no excuse for any cat owner any more.

Sam - Go to a vet and get some Frontline *spray* it is safe for kittens from two days of age. If they have fleas you really MUST treat them - fleas can literally drain a kitten to the point of death.

Going to get mother cat spayed now?

Yes, we are. As i may have said the pregnancy situation was not our fault. Martha is a house cat, and should never have been allowed out - she got out at the home before ours, and we essentially got given a pregnant cat. As it goes, the kittens are all starting to drive me bonkers. They're lovely and playful etc, but god it's like having three small children. All kittens are weaning now, and are in the process of getting litter trained.

True story - my friend's cousin was driving down a country track one day when he heard (and felt ) a bump as the car went over something. He stopped, got out and looked about. A few metres down the road, he saw a cat lying in the gutter. He went over to examine it and discovered that it was still breathing. He decided to put it out of its misery so he clanked it over the head with a tyre wrench.
Seconds later, a distraught woman approached him - apparently her cat used to sleep at the side of the road where the tarmac was warm. Darren - such was his name - has killed a perfectly healthy cat!
Closer inspection of the road revealed the original; exceedingly dead; cat some metres away.

S'all true.

Once, late at night, when my bro had just got home and everyone else was inside upstairs, we heard a loud "bump" like a soft heavy object hitting a window, followed by a pause, then the sound of the car starting up and repeated revving.
I'll leave it to the reader to guess what happened that caused this sequence of noises.

Errrr... your brother had got a lift home from a girl, was trying to get a goodnight grope in her car... she wasn't having it and pushed his head away then started the engine but he jumped back on her as she tried to pull away?
