KMC have a lot of fans on here, so I've decided to try one for a bike I'm rebuilding.

What I would like to know, is if there is anything crucial I need to know about the different flavours of 8 speed:
1) Z82 - bog standard.
2) X8 93 - "double durability treatment".
3) X8 99 - "double durability treatment" and "X-SP... extreme stretchproof treatment".

Thanks in advance.

No Idea i'm afraid but I do know that my gear change is quieter with a KMC chain than with any other make.

No 3 is my favourite, I use it on my MTB and my SS. My wife has it on her MTB too.

Thanks for your input, but in the end I plumped for a Wippermann 808.

I started out with the intention of doing a Shimano-free build, which has now become a Far East-free build and may well end up as Euro-only if I can find a suitable alternative to Jagwire...
