Hi all,

I used to have a link that was a useful source of info on what to adjust for different types of knee pain.

I can't find the link, but if anyone has a good one on this subject I'd be grateful.

Just for the record I have a sharp stingy pain occurring front bottom to front bottom right (inside leg) of the left knee cap... Could be a cleat alignment issue or saddle height issue, but this is a bike I have ridden for 5 years and I certainly havent changed the SPDs on the shoes in over 12 months... maybe I am finally getting longer legs (although at 41 I certainly doubt this ;) )

Hi, a subject close to my heart. I have used this before to help set up position and diagnose problems :

http://www.cptips.com/knee.htm

And Cycling Plus had a good article in 2 parts - see:
http://www.bikeradar.com/fitness/article/take-care-of-your-knees-17010/
http://www.bikeradar.com/fitness/article/take-care-of-your-knees-part-2-17445/

Lots more n the web, including the Livestrong web site (may not be PC any more but useful info) http://www.livestrong.com/knee-pain-cycling/

Hope this helps. (PS - have just pasted web addresses into reply)

Had my knees given the all clear by doc, despite an ache particularly in the right one when OFF the bike. Even he suspect damage to my meniscus, but everything is mechanically sound apparently.
I have definitely got the right reach and saddle height. Tried flat pedals, different shoes and bikes, amongst other things over the last couple of years.

On reading the links above I may have had a eureka moment. Knee pain caused by back problems - My back and core is probably the one thing I do not exercise and I know I have a slight leftward bend in my spine (too many years as a mouse jockey), which may link with right knee pain

Now I have a target, I'll post back in a month or two to see if some concentrated back work helps. Can't hurt any more than it does can it. ^_^
