Knee is still borked, although thankfully not as bad as it was. Hopefully with continued rest it will go away; I've piton half a stone in the two weeks since I last went on a bike!

My chiropractor was trying to tell me the importance of warming up and down either side of cycling. I'm not so sure...

Why are you not so sure? Warm up before hammering it, stretch afterwards (not that I do)

Well the knee is pretty much sorted now, but I haven't been able to test it properly as I came off my bike last Monday and as my back just doesn't seem to be getting better (quite the opposite) I got it looked at. It would appear that I may have cracked a rib. Joy.

Well the knee is now totally fine, I guess it just needed rest. My rib is still giving me jip; Chiro now reckons I didn't crack it. Whatever, I still can't stand for more than a few minutes without it feeling like I'm being stabbed in the back.

The rest of my life is great, but I really miss cycling!

Your ribs will give you bother for weeks. It's common to tear the joining tissue which causes lots of pain. Same with broken ribs. So long as no punctured lung, carry on. I was able to ride after doing mine in, but couldn't climb out of the saddle or give it any beans in a start. Took 6 weeks for the bad pain to go but upto 6 months pain free.

If knee ok, I would ride.

Thanks. That is really quite reassuring. Cycling doesn't hurt my rib, but a lack of cycling hurts my back - cycling keeps my lower back muscles strong which helps mitigate a lumber facet thingie that I acquired falling out of a moving car!
