Knocked off bike this morning

There is evidence – she knocked you off your bike and left the scene – she called the police twice (changing her story) saying that she knocked a cyclist off and left the scene – just because there are worse crimes out there/plod are overstretched doesn’t mean the police/cps shouldn’t take an interest – where does that stop – not perusing attempted muggings because the mugger ended up taking nothing? – **** that – ask your MP for an explanation as to why your local police force refuse to investigate a hit and run

It's true that it's up to the CPS whether or not to proscecute for this sort of offence, and without the police pushing it through, that won't happen.

You can, though, insist on it being recorded. There will then be an incident number which you can quote to the driver's insurer.

Even if you personally get no recompense from pushing this through, it will at least be reflected in the accident statistics. If it's not recorded, nothing will get done about this or the hundreds of similar incidents that probably occur every day but aren't reported or recorded by the police.

Had to finish off this subject.

I just phoned the driver's insurance company and my claim has been authorised and I should receive a cheque in the next few days for the price of a fork and wheel + fitting.

So I am very pleased. I doubt they lost their no claims because they probably lost it already but I can still revel in the thought of their insurance going up.

For the past few weeks I have been on the bus to work and a couple of weeks ago I was looking out of the window while going past the accident spot and they were there! At the same time and on the same side of the road (wrong side). The only difference was I could not see a number plate on the front of the car. If only I had been a bit quicker and took a photo on the phone.

That's good.Nice one.

If only I had been a bit quicker and took a photo on the phone.

You can't blame yourself for not doing that at the time.
