At the junction between Oxford Road/Street and Whitworth St in Manchester about 8.20 this morning.
Bloody idiot didn't even try to check if I was OK.

Ouch! Sounds like they deserve a bit of a slap.

Hope you're ok! And the bike!

I've nearly hit two this summer but hey, rlj is safe, all those that do it say so. Just like all speeding drivers say they do it safely.... until there's an accident.

I always feel such a nerd sitting at the red light there because I have, literally, been the only cyclist doing so out of, maybe, a dozen.

Only evenings for me, I don't have the stress of a city-centre commute, but it's bad enough even then.

How's the bike?

Ouch!
Bad place to fall off as well, it's really busy round there.

Oddly enough - it's not too bad because the ASL means that cyclists can have an influence on the traffic flow - excepting the self proclaimed free spirits who f*ck things up for the rest of us.

Reviewing the video, the RLJer rode straight through my front wheel as I moved across the junction. Fortunately, I was able to move to the rightmost lane before ending up horizontal, so was well out of the way of other traffic.

Thanks for all the kind words

Seems OK - a 16" wheel is pretty resistant to deformation !

I may watch out for him on Monday and give him bit of 'result'

Revenge is a dish best served cold, however you are assuming that he will actually remember you... he will probably just assume you are some loon and either retaliate or call the fuzz or both at which point you are the one in trouble.

Glad you weren't injured.

Most cyclists jump red lights. Some do it 'safely' (I do it if it's completely clear) but others just plough through blindly. At least it wasn't a car/lorry.

I never ever trust a green light. See

I'm not sure the bit I've highlighted is correct. It may be where you ride but not here. Most other cyclists that I encounter do wait at the lights. Of those that do ride like cocks they tend to be young, mostly Ninja Cyclists or pavement cyclists when they do ride badly... and they're the minority.
