Thanks fellas for all the advice, really good. Drove into work, ended up feeling a lot stiffer at work got tended to by the first aid ladies (ice packs here there and everywhere) i work in a school and the had a check over with the school nurse, doesnt seem to be anything to major cheek is fine only the bone just under my chin is a little sore only to the touch though.

Bruising on the indside of both my thighs there opposite each other and bar end size so presume my inner thighs banged into the bar ends. More than anything just feeling stiff and achey.

Had a message from the bloke again offering his apologies and he's taking responsibility. Had his insurance company on saying that he has acceppted fault and to ring them about damages and processing it all.

R.E the junction, at that time in the morning the traffic is queuing at the lights hence why i filter on the right to get to the front at the lights. The road he pulled out off is a resedential street and just where his street joins the road it forms/expands into two lanes - one for turning right on to the east lancs and one lane for turning left and going straight on. So he pulled out into the lane for turning right the lane is also used for going straight on as well though. Basically really hard to explain so makes me realise how poor a junction it is.

Anywhoo thanks for the replies chaps

Good on that bloke for admitting fault and insurance company getting to work, at least that's not more stress you have to deal with.

It happens to all of us at some point in our cycling years. Sounds like you were lucky not to be seriously injured. One other thing you should do is visit your GP to get all your injuries documented then if the other guy's insurers start getting arsey then you have them on record plus your GP is the person who holds your medical notes. It is important to pay them a visit. They may be required to compile a medical report for your solicitor or for the other side's insurer, if there is no need for specialist medical advice. Minor injuries such as yours I would say would mean a £2 - £3,000 payout plus costs to repair/replace your bike on top. In a car RTA whiplash can easily mean a £3,500 - 4,000 pay out if moderately severe but no long term problems. The other guy's insurer WILL try to shaft you even if they appear nice. As advised above get a solicitor who specialises in PI and preferably cycling RTAs BC or CycleAid to advise and represent you. DO NOT TRY TO DO EVERYTHING AS IF YOU HADN'T BEEN KNOCKED OFF AND GRIMACE WITH PAIN AND DISCOMFORT. You need time to heal and recover. It may also compromise any claim as well. Keep all receipts for any cost you have incurred above which you would have spent had you not been knocked off. Photograph in detail your injuries and do so as they heal. Bruising a week on can look very dramatic. Take time off work if you need to. Loss of earnings can be recovered or an employer's lost wages in having to pay you for sick leave can be part of your claim as well.

Good luck.

Glad you got an honest person who admitted fault, sounds like a painful time for all.
Must agree with Crankarm and most others on here, if it feels a bit off now, it will feel worse in 2 days time so don't just pass it off as a little stiffness when it could be far worse.
The insurance Co's would screw you over if they could, so get those bruises and inconveniences properly noted by the pro's.

Good luck.
