I was treated to Kobe Beef by 'er indoors for my 40th birthday. A restaurant in Berlin. As op's have said it virtually melts in the mouth and the flavour is amazing. Expensive but well worth it just for the experience of trying it.

No wonder the fillet in the place i was in was 50 quid. it must cost a fortune paying for all those cows to get into the swimming baths

How true. My kids always want a 'treat' after swimming. FFS, the swimming WAS the treat!

I have eaten beef in Kobe but not Kobe Beef. Did look at it on a menu when we were there but just could not justify the cost!!
