Looking fwd to tomorrow. Decisive for 1/2 & 3/4 GC rankings. I don't think any of the riders will totally collapse so it'll be more about small gains. Famous last words !

I know Mads has worked his arse off collecting points, but isn't there something unsatisfactory about winning the points jersey when some other guy has absolutely dominated the bunch sprints? Yeah I know it's the "points jersey" not the "sprinters jersey" but all the same it doesn't quite feel right.

But as it's Jasper losing out I don't mind. ;)

Nah, just on stage finishes alone, Mads has picked up points on eight of the 17 stages available, and has won one of them. Jasper has won three but only picked up points on four. ASide from his win, three of those eight stages were top five positions, two were second place. That seems fair enough to me.

Funnily enough, Mads leads Philipsen by 142 points, and has picked up 143 in the intermediate sprints contested (not sure how many Philipseb has, he's not gone for them but I think he's picked up a couple anyway).

Besides which - Vingegaard is in second place anyway, not Philipsen

Mads yesterday said "JOnas needed the seconds more than I needed the points, so as a Dane I didn't get in his way". They've had quite a bromance at times this race, the Danish "coffee club" interviews have been excellent

Yeah, that's all true but it does seem a bit folorn when Jasper blows everyone away.

I used to feel the same when Cav would go home from the Tour with a bag full of stage wins but Sagan or Hushovd would waltz off with the green jersey. But because it's only Jasper I don't get the same sense of injustice. In fact because it's Jasper I don't get any sense of injustice.
