I feel like people are getting over-excited about that ride by Pidcock. That's the sort of climb we've always known he his good on, the test of his credentials will be the big climbs to come and which he doesn't have much history on (at least in a GC context).

I agree. I picked him to win today, based upon the parcour.
I ain’t picking him for the Angliru!

Why not....not everyday you get to drop Vingo.
Massive confidence boost for him.

I was a good ride but whilst Jonas has improved on those explosive climbs this season it is the longer climbs that suit him best and where Pidcock is unproven in a GC context. Pidcock has a history of doing well on shorter, steep climbs so it isn't that big a shock and I just think people are reading too much into it. It would have been interesting to see what happened had the stage been up for grabs.

Being the devil’s advocate, the Angliru is a short steep climb. About as extreme an example as you can get, but it is not long.

IPT should withdraw from the race imo

And forfeit those all important UCI points.

Pidders just dropped the f bomb on the interviewer, when asked about being stopped at 3kms.
Thinks they should have ridden to the finish.
He doesn’t think putting riders at risk of injury is the way forward for protesters.

It feels that, given the organisers were expecting the protests and actually seemed to have contingencies in place, they could have maybe had a back up finish line that the teams were aware of but not published it in advance.
