The massive irony being what the hell was the communication on Angliru in 2023, when Roglic was attacking Kuss and Jonas was sitting on his wheel?

Given the severity of the climb, I'm surprised at how the rest of the field did. I thought the time gaps would be much larger.

San Lorenzo precedes and it’s a bit of a Vuelta legend. Really tough, over 10kms at an 8.5% average.
The final climb looks uneven and rampy.

Jonas: would have liked to have been able to win the stage today, but Almeida was strongest and deserved the win

A bit of an anticlimax for me. Had how many km with the front two riding at about 10kmh and no attacks? Couple of accelerations from Almeida that Jonas dealt with, but no real dig - just diesel power. I mean if you can't you can't, but waiting for an attack that never came was a bit disappointing from a fanboy perspective

Yeah, as I said earlier it doesn't make for great racing having those gradients. It's just attritional and who can crack the least.

Kuss said pretty much the same. You can't attack as you can never recover. You can only hope to cycle up it faster than someone else, it's a pure W/Kg battle

Not gonna lie I thought Vingo would of finished this Vuelta of today ....but it's got to give Almeida a massive amount of confidence for himself and the rest of the race !
Good job Soler and Ayuso rested today.... he's going to need them from now on 🤣

Great ride from Almeida and the top 2 are close but come stage 20 who will be up there still ? Quite surprised how small the time gaps were for the top GC riders today. Probably Ciccone the worst loser.

Yeah, I feel for you Rich. I know the feeling. I am stuck in the middle of France, blue sky, bright sunshine, looking at ripe cab franc grapes and then being dragged inside a cave and about 10 degrees cooler, attempting to assess the merits of 9 wines.
