A lady friend of mine is looking for a female friendly bike ( no cross bar ), which is light and has flat bars and will handle towpaths bridleways and be slick on the road ...

Thank you Ladies ( and Gents) in anticipation of your suggestions

edit = not a blokes cross bar type thing ,probably one thats lower and ladylike

Price?
Size?
I would recommend a non sus model with disk brakes.
Ridgeback Metro series seems OK, but they make a bewildering array of suitable models

I have a Charge Grater. Although I have a crossbar model, I know they do a mixte (step through).
It is light, fast and has the best brakes of all my bikes.

Is the "no cross bar" thing an actual requirement. Or is it just the idea that the presence (or lack of) a top tube defines the gender of a bike?
