Ha! See you're doing my bidding already mwahahahahahhaha!

When we actually do the official thang I'll post some questions that I want answered then we can discuss. All very exciting, and we'll probably go for 'women' as we want those with baskets on pashleys, those in lycra, those in their teens and those of an age we would never ask to get involved.

Don't forget 'totty'. You'd hate for the Girls In Lycra crowd to feel left out now...;)

Ah, go on then. 'Women' preferred by me. 'Birds' is only acceptable when used by those who understand why it is unacceptable .
Or to wind up those who get tetchy about what you call them...;)

In a previous place of work, sexist banter from the ladies (yup, and they should have known better...) was met with a knowing look at my male colleague accompanied by rolled eyes and a clearly audible "huh, chicks!"

 Women surfers around here tend to be known as Chicks on Sticks. I'm expecting Weenie's new site to be called birdzonbikez.com, with a distinct but not-too-extravagant smattering of post-post-feminist irony.

And lots of hot pink? Except for the birdz who really hate how kit manufacturers assume that all women like pink. Eurgh, I hate pink, the patronising b*stards! Etc...;)

Actually we're actually thinking of the name spokeswomen.

That's pretty good. I was joking about birdzonbikez - honestly!

Hey ww

will try and get online but suspect I'm out and about tommorow - I'm based in London so if you want a face to face focus group I might be able to help as well as rope in cyclist mates if they're interested. PM me if you need people.

Sounds like a good idea, but then again are there enough takers? Shecycles sort of disappeared, although I'm not sure why, and there is already female groups on some of the forums and lots of newsletters, like shespoke etc. And then there is always Team Estrogen - although mainly American, it does pull quite a few others in as well, so I'm not sure if there is enough critical mass for anything else, although more choice is always good!

I don't remember one (that isn't to say there wasn't one) ... though I remember it coming up in discussion as to whether we wanted one at one stage.

There was one, ages and ages ago when we all moved in. I was happy for it to go...the site's friendly enough and the women's thread just felt a bit isolationist.
