Well this is weird.

Until last Thursday I wasn’t aware of this world record attempt, and I have been binge listening to the podcast while decorating.

When I got to day 86 and she’s approaching Vancouver I wondered if she rode over the Lions Gate Bridge. I checked it out on her website and she did, and around the edge of Stanley Park.

The same day I did a short ride on my Brompton through the park!

What a shame I didn’t know about it, I could’ve given her a wave.

Traffic backed up over the bridge is nothing new; its been getting worse for years and years and years.

She announced that at the film screening in Boulder! I’m guessing she’d have to do it differently but what a challenge that would be!

As well as the unsupported round the world record, Lael already has a number of amazing achievements, including the fastest time on the Tour Divide, which she is currently matching in this years event, so maybe she might go faster this year?

Currently her sponsors include Specialized, SRAM, Wahoo, Revelate designs and Rapha amongst others. So if anyone can pull this together it will be her. It will be great to see if she does.

Ultra Endurance seems to be a field in which Women are closely matching the Men, or in some instances even beating them. It will be fascinating to see if she can beat Marks record, or at the very least match it, I certainly wouldn't be betting against it.
