Hence my post. I have to admit I tend to agree with her but I thought I'd see what the good people of CC think?

Accidently caught about 5 mins of it (other half has broken ankle and spends hours channel hopping) and it sort of upset me.

Because lamb tastes really nice and the little things were so cute. ;)

Well, I tuned in a couple of times. And it was Kate Humble presenting, who's spent 6 months learning to handle sheep and lamb ewes.

I don't think it's any more ridiculous to have an interest in animals and farming then it is to watch X-factor, or football, or anything else.

And anyone who needed a TV show to remind them that lambs are cute needs to get out more. Incidentally, part of one evening's show was following a pair of lambs to the abbatoir, and hence to the butcher, where Ms Humble herself made them into chops. So it wasn't all cutesy stuff.

And I learned that just before tupping, the ewes get a 'Brazilian'...

I cycled along a bridleway through a field full of dozens of lambs today. I looked at the cute little things gamboling around the field and thought.....

Thanks I'll remember that.

It's quite amusing seeing you folk all talking about eating lamb as if you're being outrageous to be thinking about it.

Except for rare breed wool, they have virtually no other commercial purpose these days (ordinary fleece prices are pitiful, and cheese is a pretty small market). That's farming. Without lamb chops, there'd be no point in having live lambs. (Pigs are the same, of course, they don't even have the advantage of giving milk.)

I watched it! ;)

I think Kate Humble's a very good presenter and seems to throw herself wholeheartedly into anything she does. It's alway's interesting to see how our farmers are coping with the economy in such turmoil - good on them, they've got a tough life. ;)

+ 1. I watched all the shows and enjoyed them. Not a big fan of the Humble woman but on this occasion I thought she presented well.

I watched it and LOVED it. Quite moving, to be honest, although I admit I'm packed full of hormones. I like Kate Humble as well.

Get off your testosterone clouds, boys and just go 'awwww' at the baby lambs.
