I have a length of laminate flooring that needs replacing in the bathroom. It’s right in the middle of the floor and I assume it’s tongue and groove. What’s the best way of removing and reinstating a new bit?

Speaking as a non DIY person, my thoughts are ..... if it's tongue and groove, then the only way of removing from the middle, would be to smash the tongue on one side.

Then refitting, the tongue would have to be removed from the new section to allow it to be slotted in place.

Better if you can remove all sections from one of the sides completely, then fit the new ones to make good.

Good luck.

How is the edging done? Beading or under the skirting board?
One will likely require less post-job decorating to be done than the other....

You can repair it
You will need a circular saw
Cut around the inside of damaged board leaving a strip approx 10 mm right around
Remove the off cut
You can then pull out the remaing tongue/groove straps to expose the joints
As sparky recommends you have to cut out the bottom groove on new board so that theres only one complete joint left on one side
You can click this in and the 3 remaining sides will rest on top of existing boards
Befire you click it in some dabs of super glue on the cut joints will make it secure
Rest the, settee on it till it dries
