beautiful morning today, lovely commute until... another cyclist right-hooked me ("i didnt see you"), i braked hard to avoid collision and went over the bars. the rest of the day was spent in the hospital and dental surgery. five broken teeth, broken nose and elbow, grazed chin. recovery will take quite some time, and then multiple and costly visits to the dentist - not looking forward to that..
on the other hand it could have ended worse - am i lucky? (doesn't seem so at the moment)

Wow, sorry to hear that Rimas. Did you get the other cyclists details. He should be footing any bills.

ouch - that is nasty. I'm sorry to read this. I hope you are ok. As Ian says, did you get details?

Get well soon.

Right hooked by a cyclist - FFS.

It all sounds very painful, Rimas. I wish you all the best with your recovery and hope to see you on the bike soon (and certainly before the the next folding bike race at the Smithfield Nocturne).

Speak to CTC &/or a solicitor - the guy is clearly at fault and liable for your injuries. If he has insurance that will cover him if not, you call as to whether to chase him personally

Ouch!!!! My teeth are hurting just thinking about it. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

There is a lesson in there for others though. Its well worth spending time in an empty car park practising emergency braking till your rear wheel is just lifting and bracing yourself against the bars to stop yourself going over them. Then hopefully when an emergency does happen, there's a much greater chance of not panic grabbing the handful of brakes that throws you over the bars. I have come to appreciate the time I spent doing it just as I appreciated the time I spend on a skid pan with a car when I hit icy conditions.
