I was having a coffee in a local picnic type area this afternoon when a little white escort van pulled in with Lands end to leicester in 30 hours written on the side, it was a charity cycling event for help for heroes (nothing odd about that you might think ?) but then a minibus and transit van pulled in and all the bikes were in the back of the van and the cyclist were in the minibus ?

The bike leaning against the van was a full suspension down hill rig, and they pulled into the picnic stop from the cornwall end .. pics were taken in Honiton Devon (A30)

Ambitious! That's approximately 450 miles which works out to 15 mph without stopping...on that contraption and flat pedals?!?!

360 mile bike ride to Help the Heroes
Over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend (May 29th - 30th), seven intrepid Thurmaston residents will be cycling from Land's End to Thurmaston to raise money for the Help for Heroes charity, established to assist those young people injured as a result of serving this country in armed conflict.

The seven riding are Jade Roberts, Kyle Daisley, Richard Ryan, Danny Inskip, Luke Mason, Paul Smith and myself. there will also be various people involved as part of our back up team.

The plan is to leave Thurmaston on the Friday and set off from the tip of Cornwall at 8am on Saturday morning, riding non stop in relays, hopefully covering the 360 miles in under 30 hours, enabling us to arrive back in Thurmaston at 2pm on the Sunday.
