Brilliant idea!Found a lanyard really useful when touring on my motorbike, stuck my credit card in it, made getting through the tolls easier with far less faffing.
I was wondering if that would work. I think I have the same Garmin Edge touring?Just bought a couple of lanyards yesterday to fit onto my Garmin, I would hate to loose them if they became detached from the bike

I work in a place where security is pretty important, not just to prevent industrial espionage, but also to prevent breaches of national security classified information. Those people you detest are simply doing their jobs to maintain this security.I also hate and detest lanyards and the deskbound a'holes who decree they be worn.
That only works if people are actively checking them and challenging people. While in one specialist sub department of CID I had to become a signatory of the OSA (again) and still walked around for over a year with a picture of George Michael prit stick'd to my warrant card and no one noticed. I did it to prove a point about the validity of such 'security' measures.I work in a place where security is pretty important, not just to prevent industrial espionage, but also to prevent breaches of national security classified information. I agree with you. I was only responding to a previous poster's comment about deskbound a'holes, which I thought was pretty unreasonable.Thar only works if people are actively checking them and challenging people. Lanyard and cards keep no one and nothing safe. Rigorous security, properly applied, not just give

This is what safety lanyards are for. You have no excuse if safety is your only concern. Now and then i get asked to wear one , fair enough but once i'm working it goes in the pocket as i dont want it dragging my face towards a machine if it gets caught up . If anyone gets upset about it then i'm more than happy to leave and let them explain why nothing has been done
