I know im irresistible:heat: to both sexes when cycling or it could just be the bike however i do like my personal space.
Anyhow getting to the point.
A White van mans little brother passed me through a pinch point on a roundabout exit and nothing short of royally fu@k*d it up. Passing by my elbow and then cutting across me. Anyhow I lashed out but missed as he cut across me. :boxing:
First time i have ever hit out at anything passing me before.
Is this acceptable or not is the question? Iv never thought of hitting another vehicle before but this incident i thought called for it just by the fact he kept pulling in.
Anyhow rant over. :hello:

Edit: Called him a stupid gimp after he passed. Thing of the moment i was just going to say how stupid then flopped out stupid gimp

I had a car come by me that close I could have licked the side windows without leaning. They got a good bang on the rear wing, they didn't even stop.

It sounds like you had no choice but to lash out in defence, you did nothing wrong in my opinion.

Sounds like the driver was yet another numpty who simply cannot be bothered to give us cyclists the room we need.

Really annoys me - all we ask for is a bit of space! Not much to ask for really.

I dont know how over hyped it was but I got told about one of club riders who after a small hatch back deliberately seemed to drive at him, caught up with him a dragged the muppet out of the car. Other riders thought he'd be done for assault but it was never reported;

police: why did you get assaulted?
him: because I attempted to assault him first with a two ton weapon.

Never hit a car myself. I've had perhaps two opportunities to do so, when an overtake has been very close, but on both occasions I elected to take evasive action, either by slowing down or swerving left.

I gave the bonnet of a van a slap when he drove at me in a huff because I wouldn't let him go through the Belgrave bus crossing. There's the minicab I took a swing at when he cut me up, that you told me off about.

I've lashed out at other cars but usually miss by a gasp of air.

Right or wrong, it's an expression of your fear at the time and the fight or flight reaction can cause us to do silly things.

wvm little brother for me too, single lane turns into two lanes at a set of lights, junction allows straight on for both lanes and left turn in the left lane.
i filter into left lane and take primary. pillock in mini white van pulls alongside in right lane then starts moving over, clearly no intention to overtake.
lets just say he'll need to beat that panel out for his troubles.
oh and he was so close my bar end was touching at one point, that was actually after the "fending off"
