last commute of year on bike yesterday...

well, my bike is hung up for commuting this year.

by tradition I never cycle in the the last working week prior to Christmas due to the increased danger - folks minds not on driving but buying prezziers, increase in drink driving, general stress etc.....

Hopefully give the trusty Saracen Kilicomp a good was, fit new change and general look over.

Ofcourse, it won't stop me from doing a bit of off-road on the weekends!

I know what you mean , but I have always found the roads to be quieter just before Xmas. Maybe it's people having time off or going by bus/train so they can have a few before they go home.

Mine was on Tuesday - still too scarily icy so bussed it in on Wed, Thurs and my half-day on Friday. Now I'm on holiday until the 6th January !

I did work out today that I've been commuting for a month of sundays.

My commuting for the year is also over as I'm on holiday in Manila from tomorrow until the 5th January. However I'm hoping to get a good few Kms into the legs on most of those days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just hadn't taken many hols this year, and suddenly realised with about a month to go that I had to use them up - so a nice long Christmas break seemed a good way to go.

All my pals at work are green with envy and moaning about how jealous they are. Don't see why - they all had around 3 hols abroad through the year, blowing their holiday balances and bank balances, whereas I was skint and spent two weeks at home for my summer hols.

I do feel a certain smug satisfaction now though, knowing they'll be sitting miserably at work until the end of the year.

That's true I had a nice holiday in July/November.I had two holidays abroad which is more than some people have obviously,but because of the July holiday I blew my chance of making it to Australia this year.

Christmas is not for me so im not to bothered anyway.
