Hi All, I am new here been cycling since April, 19 miles each day round trip started out on a mountain bike, the went to a cheapo electric bike (waste of time money and space) which I then sent back and ended up with a Viking road bike 21 speed light alloy frame should have done this in the first place. I am quite new to cycling and I am getting used to cycling in the cold damp and dark. Last night I had managed to avoid the normal potholes, dodgy over takes, and conned off detours (seeing as they seem to be digging the new channel tunnel from my route, all summer there has been road works on this one road. Got to about 15 minutes form home, my bike I think is quite lit up at the front one catseye light on the left and another light at the front both flashing, I also have a High vis jacket, on the back a flashing redlight another cats eye red, and another light on my rucksack. As i am cycling away up the hill not to fast as its quite steep and I have usually had enough when I reach this section (lazy cycling) I can see a bright light, I thought must be someone trying to reverse or three point turn its not a main road. All of a sudden an twat on an eggwisk bike comes down the hill at about 30 miles an hour and misses be by an inch. On the wrong side of the road coming on to on coming traffic and looks at me as if I have done something wrong luckily I reacted qucikly and managed to move out the way at the last second. What else could I have done to avoid this as I would have ended up as tomato sauce on the floor. What a tit.
