Friend or foe?

Do you enjoy the presence of a leaf or two stuck in your mudguards or brakes as a whirring accompaniment to your efforts, or curse them as a damned hindrance to your progress? Or don'tcha give a hoot?

As long as they are not wet and in a pile under my wheel under heavy braking and then following that under my arse (as they were about a week ago)-

I can't say it would bother me (as long as the one in the brake isn't gonna affect my stopping performance)

They don't slow me down but they spoil the pleasure of riding on a smoothly running, almost silent bike. I get plenty of time at the next red light to get the leaves to take their leave. Once, somehow, I managed to get some chewing gum off the road and in between my rim and brakes. That was a real pain to remove.

Any foliage between my tyre and mudguards sends me into a right panic as it takes a few seconds to register what that horrible noise is. Bloody nuisance they are!

They are a vague irritant, and sometimes I catch myself attempting to remove them while riding. Not recommended, especially when you consider likely effect of fingers in spokes :hello:

They're not bad - they work their way out of the mudgaurds after a few wheel rotations.

It's plastic bags that I fear. Get one of those in your drivetrain and it could be serious.

I know, imagine the shame if it was a netto or Lidl one and not Waitrose

I did that once  I then did a mental double take and realised I was being a total plank and had waking dreams for the rest of the ride of me counting up to seven with my fingers like a toddler and then realising that 7 was my full set. Never again :stop:

Annoying, but less annoying than when I didn't have mudguards.

I am OCD enough to stop and remove - noises drive me potty. I hear voices. LOL

PS never tried it on the move. Oh no. I know clubmates who did that. Bladed spokes to be avoided.
