Where I live we have these lovely pinch points, which are like a car-sized rectangle in the road. As a car-driver, you stop for it like it was a parked car, the traffic on the side without the pinch point having priority.

They left about a 2 foot gap on the left-hand side of these, which is marked as a cycle lane - so we cyclists can zoom straight on rather than have to go out round the pinch point.
These gaps, of course, are inaccessible to the road-sweeping machine. So they fill up with junk at the best of times, one of them got a fair amount of weeds growing in it earlier this year. They are now, of course, all full of leaves - they were dry leaves yesterday, but overnight will have turned in to a slippery mess.
These cycle lanes also thoughtfully contain at least one drain in each pinch point, to give you some slippery metal and a bit of juddering.

I tend to avoid these "cycle lanes", unsurprisingly!

They take a dim view if you skate through a station.

Which I believe happened to the Pompey-Basingstoke through Botley earlier this week. Wasn't you was it?;);)

I also notice that leaper season seems to have started in Surrey. Now that must be grim for a driver.

Yeah what that means is we can run around a bit slower as we have to brake earlier for stations.

I found the Salisbury line a bit slippy tonight but it's been worse. Was running late as I didn't know how slippy it would be.Also one of the trains hit a deer on the way back so I had to look for it.It was between the tracks brown bread.

Those bloody leaves i've watched them from the back cab. When a train passes they all fly up in the air and back down again. Some land on the rail.
They're the 'wrong type of leaves' lol

The leaves are causing havoc here. The highways department were out when I passed about an hour ago, digging out the drains as all the roads were flooded as the surface water had no where to go.
Remember boys and girls, don't kick leaves about as there might be a piece of poo out to get you.
