Just dragged the poor husband to see 'Allo Allo' the stageshow. It was fab - like stepping back in time!! We were the only people there under 50 (apart from people's grandchildren) and everyone in the audience knew all the lines... I really rather loved it.

Best of all, the original Yvette (Vicki Michelle) was still in it - and still looking fabulous (from the circle seats). Husband most impressed with her.

Just fab - I feel about 14 again.

Reminds me of the Rocky Horror Show, that was a blast as well.

Actually, I never liked Allo Alllo. Kinda simpleton, sexist picture postcard humour, in the same sort of bracket as Benny Hill.

Rocky Horror was much more highly-brow ;0)

I particularly liked the comedy Nazis. Who knew that the SS and Gestapo were actually hilariously funny?

I went to a singalong performance of the Sound of Music (I was invited by a dear friend). The enthusiasm was overwhelming, and just a bit frightening. People wore costumes (I was warned off the SS costume by the hire agency who said that these were the most stained..) and danced in the aisles. Odd

I never found the tv show funny at all.

On tv, it did seem somewhat repetitive. Plus wasn't it on on Sundays? I've developed an aversion by association with some programmes down the years because they remind me of Sundays which meant school / work next day!

I remember going to watch the original show at the Grand in Wolverhampton, great show and yes as young slip of lad Vicky Michelle rocked my world, and still does !!

I know what you mean. I loved Friday night because I could curl up in bed and watch The Beechgrove Garden, Parkinson and Sgt Bilko all one after the other. Happy days :0)

I thought the first series was hilarious, but by the time it got to the eighth...

Wasn't it a spoof of Secret War or something. My mum used to watch it, but it was a bit grown up for me at the time.
