Glad you are ok, I've been down that road many times on my way to work (both riding the bike and in the car) and that is the only road I take to the cycle lanes while on the bike, because they are still doing the tram there, the cones everywhere make the road a challenge

Got mybike back from the LBS this morning and no damage apart from scratches. I am off work untill 2nd Jan and tanked up on pain killers now.
Looked at the data on the Garmin and went from 19mph to 15mph in 2 seconds then to 0mph in 1 second, The driver has offered to pay for anything damaged in the incident which currently is £68.26(Helmet, Rucksack and perscription charges)

I don't know if the helmet saved me from any head injury but am glad I was wearing it.
Have spoke to the police officer again and it looks like the driver will be asked to attend a safer driving course.

I hate left turn slips but as far as I recall I've only been similarly hooked once (here) but I was going slow enough to track stand, the muppet also realised they would have hit me and slammed on the brakes so my trackstand had to last a little longer
