The previous occupant probably uses the same DIY methodology as myself.

As I tire of continually having to explain to my wife, you CANNOT rush into these tasks. Materials should be purchased several years in advance of the job and be allowed to ‘acclimatise’ before you start. This is the only way of ensuring a top quality job.
