I have all 3 of them in built condition at moment. when i cleared out my dads shed last year I found all my Lego and most of the manuals.

ebay has huge amounts of classic lego technic kit for peanuts. I am still looking for the manual for some of the pneumatic stuff i got as a kid teenager.

my 2 kids love playing with it now.

its a world of imagination. I built a millenium falcon out of lego when star wars was big. I built a HGV and trailer when Convoy was on telly one christmas. It certainly helped in the development of my career. building complex support frames is a doddle as its basically lego but a bit bigger .

i had some meccano but that was prohibitively expensive for my mum and dad to buy.

BINNED IT!!!! When my youngest out grows it (he shows no sign at the moment) I am keeping it for the next generation. The investment I have made in lego over the years!!!

Ours all fitted in a big biscuit tin, and Mum kept it. Last Christmas, we got it out to amuse Oli. He was a little young to make stuff competently, but he had a whale of a time ordering us to make things - although his prediliction for trains, and the relatively small number of wheels available made for some tricky moments.

I have four big boxes of Lego Technic. I use it for prototyping engineering movements and have built working models of two AEC Matador timber tractors and a Scammell Constructor desert recovery truck.

When I was playing with Lego I was so chuffed to get some wheels! How times have moved on!

Me too!

Although I did get the electric tracked vehicle - that only went back and forward(not left and right). It was like a large block of blue lego - very basic. I think you could pop the tracks off and put wheels with tyres on.

That new lego looks amazing - with countless posibilities.

Just to make my point, here is a Spaceship built with an expensive Lego kit.

Here is a spaceship built and played with using imagination.

Guess which I think is best.

 Takes me back to when I was a kid building battleships and destroyers in the 60's using Airfix's Betta Bilda
(very like Lego) - every one had right angled bows and sterns, but it didn't matter to me!
