Leicester to London route needed, Help pls

Hi Everyone

I, and couple of friends are organising a charity bike ride from leicester to london. Can someone please help us on the routes using a road bike. We are novice cyclists and have not done any challenge like this.

Check out cycle.travel/ they have a nice and easy mapping page seems to choose quiter roads .

He organised a ride a couple of years back where he lead us from Loughborough to London.

This link shows the route we used for the Leicester ride (Loughborough used virtually the same roads heading south). The only busy stretch was the 2 miles south of Olney on the A509 as it's a bit narrow. However, there is now a parallel shared use path so you can avoid the road completely.
