Looking for bits to avoid and also recommendations for accommodation. Potentially doing it partially accommodation and campsites.

The following list is the accommodation we used.

Lands End Hostel
Kingswood London Apprentice
Travelodge Sourton Cross
Premier Inn Taunton North
Premier Inn Alveston
Premier Inn Worcester
Park house hotel Shifnal
Premier inn Northwich South
Garstang Golf Club
Travelodge Penrith
Stables Beattock
Hilcroft Whitburn
Premier Inn Perth
Hydro Pitlochry
Duke of Gordon Kingussie
Coos House Inverness
Carnbren b & b Lairg
Farr Bay Inn Bettyhill

Travelodges & Premier Inns allow bike storage in your room, phone the hotel and ask for a downstairs room. All the others except The Farr Bay Inn had somewhere to store the bikes.

The only hotel I would avoid is the Duke of Gordon In Kingussie, the staff were excellent but it was tired and food very average.

That’s a great achievement, well done 💪

I know what you mean about the struggle to get home: I ended up getting a taxi to Wick for a bus to Inverness (on the basis that if I cycled I’d be bound to get a puncture and miss it!), then another bus to Edinburgh where my better half had driven to (‘cos our son was there, so we all enjoyed some time chilling).
All ‘cos the trains could not be booked for a cycle and I couldn’t risk missing them in Edinburgh!

Probably the fittest I’ve been in decades when I did it, 5 years ago….see link in my signature 👀
Although I did manage to walk round the Isle of Wight last week with a pal 😎

Have you got a “next adventure” in mind??

With some old friends we are cycling the canal du midi in August. I’m thinking I might get a more rugged bike and do some off road bike packing, such as King Arthurs Way. I have cycled three C2C routes.

im open to suggestions

I have no big suggestions - you can see my recent treks in my signature, but they were broadly self-planned. Aiming to do a broad Avon-Kennet ride next month with a pal.
Did London to Paris over a decade ago, a fun 3 days, but not a massive ride.

My only suggestion is to take a look at https://cycle.travel - a fantastic site for route planning, also has many suggestions. The work of one fella who is on here, & always gets the quietest routes possible: I used it to plan my LEJoG & download to my Wahoo, worked like a charm 💪

There are a whole range of end to ends you can do, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy etc.
