When I was a youngster my pal and I got on our bikes and just rode. It was several hours before we realised that we didn't have a clue where we were or more importantly, how to get home again. My parents always told me that if I was in trouble, ask a policeman. I do not remember much about the journey home because I fell asleep in the back of a police car, but I certainly got a good talking to when I got home.

I asked him where he was sleeping and he told me he rang local Hotels and B&B's when he got tired.

I did that! I would ring at morning break, but lunch time I started panicking.

I didn't want to pre-book too early in case I didn't make it and lost money!

Think I would wild camp if I did it again!

My route was dictated by the fastest route between family members so wasn't much to decide tbh!
