Made a curried lentil soup a couple of weeks ago using a Hugh furry worsit receipt. Vile.

To continue with the windy theme: Jerusalem artichoke soup. Good grief!

My late mother in law ate some Jerusalem artichoke soup that I'd made and when her urge to break wind became overwhelming she made her excuses and got up to leave the room to vent the wind out of earshot only she farted with each step as she crossed the room. She was mortified.

How I hugged myself in a semi successful attempt to suppress my amusement.

The recipe appears to be missing a tarka!

The "Tarkha" or "Turkha" is really the masala - infusion of herbs before adding the lentils

Ah, OK. To be honest, I'd always understood the tarka to be made and added at the end of cooking just prior to serving.
