Cycling from Leominster to Newport in a few weeks with a group who are trying to get a route to avoid hills! Anyone done this route or suggest best approach?
I'd go via back roads to Hereford, NCN 46 to Abergavenny, then canal towpath (NCN 49) to Newport, as per http://cycle.travel/map?from=Leominster&to=Newport. But Hereford to Abergavenny is hilly country - you'd have to stick on the A465 for the flattest route and that's not much fun. The NCN route along there is lovely and not too hilly...
