I've not really listened to him before, apart from when people have had his music on in their car. After hearing quite a bit of his stuff on the radio yesterday I'd say his stuff was quite solemn and maybe a bit depressing, but wasn't that his appeal?

Watched the lost film Bird on a Wire last night, what a gem. I've ordered it on Amazon.

It gave me a deeper insight than I've ever had into Cohen; at one point in the film he attributes his style to being a synagogue cantor.

Oh no, the wireless is going to be endlessly playing 'Hallelujah', the second worst song in popular music history




The worst is obviously 'Imagine' by John Lennon...

problem with Leonard, is that he was very good at writing songs, but not a good singer .... This is how Hallelujah was meant to be sung:



I have load of his cd's and most were very well produced and sound awesome on good hifi especially his recording called Ten New Songs

sometimes a song needs 'emotion' included when singing it .... like this one:
