By the way, folks, last times I was on theWester Balgedie -> Strathmiglo section of the route at the beginning of May, the road surface was in dreadful condition.

At the time, I was thinking "I hope they do something to this surface before the Ed->St A's ride". I doubt they will have done ...

This is usually a lovely long, steady descent, with a great opportunity to make up some time.

Not this year. There are potholes everywhere, a lot of gravel and definitely not a stretch for 'giving it laldy'.

Take great care on this bit !

I've been round there a lot of late, its not in the best of condition (then nowhere is just now) but its not that bad but then again I'm not the fastest of descenders and a solo rider can pick their own line. Have a good one folks.

I cycled over Cleish Hill yesterday, a lot of gravel on the descent at the hairpin corners, take care! And yes, I plan to do it as well. Though not if the weather is like today, as I am a fair weather cycling wuss!

I'm a wuss when it comes to descending I was over it last on Monday night and that's about the best its been of late, they've resurfaced a few bits, there is a bit of gravel but nothing worse than usual.

It's worth making a note of the last part of the route as you enter St Andrews.

Apparently, St Andrews's Council do not permit route marker signs to be put up on their patch

, so, having followed the signs all the way, they suddenly stop as you get into St Andrews - and where is someone who knows the way when you really need them ?

Jeez I never knew or noticed that that, I've just went with the flow for the last wee bit the twice that I've done it.
