Exactly, Col! I wondered when someone would read that comment.I don't think you lot are picking up on the reference to "religious/cultural difference"!
Presumably, the concerns of Maz's wife come from those differences and I think we should be a bit more respectful of them.
Maz - has your wife actually stated why she objects? Is there room for a compromise, such as one or both of you accompanying your daughter?
From an Islamic perspective, going to a pop concert is totally unheard of, hence the main objection is the fear of the unknown, and the fear of the unknown conjures up all kinds of images.
I've no doubt at all that it would be a benign experience, hence I am inclined to let her got. Apparently, her 'friend' has already got a ticket and is sending texts, boasting and rubbing it in (nice, eh?). She'll have to find a proper friend to go with ( I aint going if i can avoid it!). I've also been rubbing it in, telling my daughter she'd faint in the hysteria and miss the whole concert, so she might as well faint at home and save the money. I don't think she found it funny, LOL.
